Create a database before starting the installation process
Before reporting an installation error, please ensure that you have given setup.php a chance to execute successfully.
It is true that error messages sent by setup.php are not very clear sometimes.
If bad indications are given to YACS, a SQL error message is sent back to the user instead of a neat warning.
Probably an additional test should be added to the setup script to check configuration parameters. Of course, any contribution is welcome...
In the meantime, please note that it is mandatory to create a MySQL database at your server before launching the setup script.
YACS can create tables and populate them, but it cannot create the database itself.
