How to weblog from an off-line Palm?

Install webLog, from handx, on your Palm, and express yourself on the move.

On the next synchronisation, your blog entries will be pushed to your web site.

Follow following indications to setup your Palm and your server.

[*] Grab an off-line blogging tool for your Palm. Visit the web site of handX and download their free webLog piece of software.

[*] Install webLog on the PC that you are using to synchronise your Palm device.

[*] On the YACS server, create a directory to host uploaded elements. At the moment, it is mandatory to name this directory /inbox/entries, and to put it just under the YACS directory. On a standard web site, this directory would be at http://www.foo.com/yacs/inbox/entries.

[*] On the PC, configure HostSync to upload entries using FTP. Use indications provided by handX to locate the weblog conduit, and to change its settings. Use the same FTP server name, user name and password that you use to updates files of your web site. The path used for uploads has to be inbox/entries. At this stage you can create an entry on your Palm and pass through all synchronisation steps. Check, using your favorite FTP tool, that one file has successfully been uploaded to your site.

[*] On the YACS server set publishing parameters. Authenticate to the server and go to the Control Panel. Select the Configuration Panel for agents. Provide the nick name of blog author, and the id or nick name of the section where pages are posted.
