How to correctly configure the "reader" functionality [fixed]

I've been able to create readers by downgrading the user to subscriptor level. So that works.

There must be a bug though as a "reader" is unable to access the section to which he/she has been given access rights if the advanced options you have selected "Restricted to associates and editors". It says in the header "Visibility restricted to associates, editors and readers" but the reader doesn't get access.

Can this be fixed easily or better still can you add the option so that members can be given reader rights and editor rights?
