Skin/Template questions
Need info to help me customize skins
Some questions here:
(1) Is the facility to import Blogger themes still functional? It does not appear to be although /skins/import.php still exists. A text search throughout the yacs directories (with Effective File Search) doies not show any other file that calls /skins/import.php either.
(2) Rather than hacking through one of the included skins to try to learn what is what (not the quickest learning tool), has anyone documented the essential components of template.php - and thus the accompanying css file - so that one could feasibly devise their own skin from scratch? In other words, I'd like to be able to take one of the Zen Garden examples or another freely available web template (i.e., from http://www.openwebdesign.org) and write my own.
(3) Has anyone written any other skins that are freely available beyond the ones included with YACS?
(4) Why is there no site showcase or similar so that we can see what others are doing with YACS? I can do a google search for "powered by yacs" and get a few pages but they all use one of the included skins. It would be nice to see what others have been able to do with the design of a YACS powered site.
