YACS is currently developed on a regular PC running some flavor of Windows. It is then tested on several servers. Some of them are running some flavor of Unix, while others are based on other flavors of Windows.
Crimson Editor - The most important tool for any script developer is the source editor. After UltraEdit and SourceEdit, I have switched recently to Crimson Editor. All of these are able to highlight PHP, HTML and CSS syntax correctly. More at http://www.crimsoneditor.com/
PHP help file - From time to time I check the main provider of PHP technologies and download an updated version of the Windows help file. This one is always on the desktop, one click away from the mouse. More at http://www.php.net/docs.php
MySQL pdf file - This one is necessary to build complex MySQL requests. Refreshed from time to time from the MySQL web site, and put on the desktop as well. More at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/
EasyPHP - This package provides Apache, the PHP engine, the MySQL engine, and phpMyAdmin, in a single and easy-to-install archive. Quite perfect for lazy developers who want to streamline installation steps... More at http://www.easyphp.org/
Web browsers - At the moment new YACS developments are checked against Internet Explorer 6, Mozilla 1.6 and Lynx. More at http://www.microsoft.com/ie, http://www.mozilla.org/ and at http://lynx.browser.org/
