English Yacs handbook Content management

How to layout content as a Freemind map?

In some situations, you may want to use a tree-like layout, and give access to deep content visually.

Most surfers enjoy web interfaces because their are straightforward. Usually, index pages list their content, as in the example below, and you have to click on links to navigate the content tree.

One way to ease the exploration of complex content is to ask YACS to change the layout of the index page. That is quite easy, all you have to do is to change an option -- the software supports Freemind format natively, and there is no additional plugin to install.

As depicted in the screen capture below, the new layout is nice, because several styles are used to differentiate content branches. And of course, two moves and clicks of the mouse are usually enough to find what you are looking for, even with many pages.
